{"id":149,"date":"2008-06-06T14:23:53","date_gmt":"2008-06-06T13:23:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.morbidcornflakes.ch\/thduggies_blog\/?p=149"},"modified":"2008-06-06T14:30:11","modified_gmt":"2008-06-06T13:30:11","slug":"living-like-a-maharaja","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thduggie.com\/thduggies_blog\/2008\/living-like-a-maharaja","title":{"rendered":"Living like a Maharaja"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Granted, Maharajas don&#8217;t have meeting minutes to write and report home, but I&#8217;m more easily satisfied.\u00c2\u00a0 After a meeting I dreaded because there was no agenda and notoriously bad communication preceding it, I didn&#8217;t mind that it lasted a good five hours because it went much better than expected.\u00c2\u00a0 Add to that the possibility to have my suit dry-cleaned in one day tomorrow, and that&#8217;s reason enough for a small-scale celebration.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I ambled about aimlessly in search of a restaurant that suited me, saw an ad for El Torito, saw the twenty-odd people sitting in a row outside (though compared with the <a title=\"Everybody loves Krispy Kreme!\" href=\"http:\/\/jp.youtube.com\/watch?v=XU4MaPkMz9M&#038;feature=related\" target=\"_blank\">Krispy Kreme<\/a> line that&#8217;s tame), and decided to try the one Japanese restaurant, which was too expensive, and the other, which was full, finally arriving at the Indian restaurant Maharaja, where I snagged a seat in the smoking section as had so many non-smokers before me, judging from the sparse smoke.\u00c2\u00a0 (Besides, I suppose it&#8217;s a three-way tie between smoke, Indian food, and rainy season sweat.)\u00c2\u00a0 I ordered (and ate) <a title=\"Hara Bara Kabab\" href=\"http:\/\/acookatheart.blogspot.com\/2007\/03\/h-is-for-hara-bhara-kabab.html\" target=\"_blank\">Hara Bara Kabab<\/a>, Kaburi Naan (naan with chopped raisins and cashews), and spicy lamb kabab along with a plain lassi and an <a title=\"Sula Indian Shiraz\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sulawines.com\/wines\/red.htm#\" target=\"_blank\">Indian Shiraz<\/a> that tasted good even before the food came.\u00c2\u00a0 I admit that I didn&#8217;t quite fit the typical restaurant visitor &#8211;
