The final instalment in April: Joseph writes 2531, sort of; Joseph reads 5322401; Vivienne watches jets; Joseph sings Happy Birthday and includes the birthday boy’s age at the end; Joseph shows his occasional shyness when asked to perform; Joseph overcomes his shyness and Vivienne awakens; and Joseph plays with his new calculator.

A lot of these focus on counting (and documenting Joseph not doing for the camera what he’d done before).  You’ll also notice that the first few differ noticeably in garden ground cover; the first ones are from April 17th, the next ones from April 20th.

Six digits, seven digits, seven digits, nine digits, eight digits.  Bouncing on the couch: Vivienne, Vivienne, Vivienne and Joseph.  Vivienne running around.

Ten more, telegram style: Great Gobble Gobble, Vivienne plays in the sink, Vivienne conducts Beethoven, Ten little ladybugs, counting Cheerios, playing with balloons and the big red ball.

Again a post built for speed, not beauty: The kids play in the tent, until the video camera gets spotted; Joseph quotes from his bedtime routine; Joseph closes the shutters as part of his bedtime routine (he’s lots faster now, and the room is neater); the two play with the keyboard; Joseph imitates Mommy’s exercises; and the two of them playing at the sink.

Again, quick style: Take 1 of Joseph reading Pete the Cat: I love my white shoes.  Take 2; Take 3; and a live reading by the authors (book courtesy of Great-Aunt K).  Vivienne dances at bedtime.  Vivienne expects Bappe to return home.  Joseph helps in the kitchen, grating carrots.  Vivienne practices her walking skills.  Vivienne nods off.  First try at capturing tent play; second try at tent play and perhaps the first recorded “don’t touch.”

Quick, another chip off the backlog…

Trying to be quick:

We have three of Vivienne diving off the bed into the playpen.  Joseph first helped her, then she launched herself, and then again, with a vengeance.  We’re happy she’s flexible – it looks rather scary on film!

Vivienne plays with dominoes, while Joseph reads.  Later, Vivienne demonstrates that she’ll give up her favorite box seat to be cute on video.

It’s also the time of Vivienne learning to stand and taking first steps.

Our children are ticklish.

We also caught Joseph’s finished puzzle on film, as well as him counting Blokus pieces by tens.
