    As far as I’m concerned, they don’t need to be restricted to good logic to encourage them to move to the US. 🙂

    I didn’t do much more than skim the report, as I usually find such measures of “child well-being” more aggravating than useful, since whoever decides these things has a much different idea from my own of what’s good for a child. I did note with amusement the statement “most…children do not like school,” which I might pull out some day for my running argument on the subject with my other son-in-law.

    I also found interesting the definition of living in overcrowded conditions as having more people in the house than the number of rooms, not counting bathrooms or kitchens — and I assume also not counting basements or attics, though this is not explicit. By this definition, many happy, healthy households today are depriving their children, as did most of our ancestors.

    I noted the overcrowding as well. There’s plenty I don’t understand, such as for instance why everyone wants to be like Finland just because they scored minimally higher in the education achievement tests. Or how we can eliminate overcrowding without a huge negative ecological impact.
