At the end of the first day of the fair, I had this tune going through my head that’s known as the “Rigilied” or under its first line, “Vo Luzärn uff Wäggis zue.” I couldn’t quite figure out why it popped into my head again on Thursday, until I realized that one of the gantry cranes in the factory played that melody every time it was moved.Â
I guess I should be glad they didn’t play “Sound of Music” or “Copacabana.”

After that rollicking bout of yodels, I must concur that I don’t know why it popped into your head. Not a bad thing to have in there, though… 🙂
Such a Japanese tune! Reminds me of the crosswalk music with words by that old Japanese gentleman, Robert Burns.
Do you mean Auld lang syne? They play it at the end of every work day. Even at the exhibitions.
Really? I guess they do have an affection for Burns. I meant Comin’ thru the Rye, which is the crosswalk music in one direction, at least in Kofu (and in the movie Swing Girls). I haven’t figured out yet what the music for the other direction is.
